The Decorate A Vet Mission

decorateavet01-SITEToday, many of our veterans are unable to take care of basic household chores such as cleaning gutters, clearing brush, trimming tree limbs, or maintaining their sidewalks and landscapes. Some of our veterans have simple electrical work requirements, or need wheel chair ramps and hand rails installed to make it safer to move about the house.

Decorate A Vet is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 dedicated to assisting our local Northern Virginia veterans to make such repairs, beautify their houses and yards, and decorate their homes for holidays. This endeavor began as a wish to give back by a local businessman with a vision, Jeff Jones of Classic StoneScaping & Gardens, LLC. Jeff shared his vision with Steve Sisler of Sisler’s Stone and four other local business leaders, along with social media, and in less than thirty days Decorate A Vet was formed. We began by contacting the local American Legion Post 130 to see if they knew anyone that could use the help, and now we are back to drive that gift of giving again and show our appreciation for many years to come.

We invite you to make a donation of goods or services and attend our 6th Annual Decorate A Vet events on December 5, 2015 when we will be repairing and decorating more of our local veterans homes. Our goal is to raise money and to receive valuable donations of time, goods, and services to help our veterans who have helped us live freer lives.
